The Good Shepherd
The Good Shepherd is one of the most comforting and reassuring images of Christ in the
New Testament. The Good Shepherd knows his flock, and as they hear and recognize his voice, they follow him, knowing that he will seek out each sheep separated from the flock. A gift of the Good Shepherd reassures loved ones that God indeed protects, nurtures, and leads them to eternal life. Presented to your bishops, pastor (Latin for "shepherd"), and pastoral staff, the Good Shepherd honors their vocation. Offered to those in leadership roles, it encourages them to embrace and model the commitment and concern of a good shepherd. And finally, the Good Shepherd provides comfort to those who feel lost, with the gentle reminder that God hears their voice and is truly with them in their pain and suffering.
