Saint Francis of Assisi
Saint Francis of Assisi (1181-1226, Feast Day: October 4th) is the Patron Saint of animals, the environment, the State of Colorado, and many other causes and places. St. Francis is loved by people of many faiths the world over. By selecting a plaque or statue of St. Francis, you invite yourself and others to appreciate the beauty and sacredness of all God's creation as we pray with him in his Prayer of Peace:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
when there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand,
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
