Praying Dangerously
Creator Mundi Gallery presents Regina Sara Ryan author, retreat & seminar leader, for a lively discussion on her book "Praying Dangerously" 10th Anniversary Edition.
The lovers of the Divine within the world's great religions have always "prayed dangerously." They chose to embrace the darkness, to love, to live in gratitude, to put others first, and to say "Yes" - again and again - despite all odds! With such dynamic and deep intention have they achieved clarity, and witnessed the self dismantled and resurrected in a wholly new way.
As seating is limited, please call the Gallery to reserve a space at 303-322-1901 or email your RSVP to gallery@creatormundi.com.

Sacred Art Presentation "The Seduction of the Sacred"
Since earliest history human beings have been led by beauty towards truth and the presence of God. In more recent centuries an art of protest has used distortion and intentional ugliness to awaken viewers to the suffering and injustice around them. Can art in our contemporary global world still function as a lure of transcendence? Or should we "look for another?"
Fr. Leo O'Donovan, S.J., President emeritus of Georgetown University and noted art critic will be in Denver to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Creator Mundi. Fr. O'Donovan will speak on the "The Seduction of the Sacred."
Fr. O'Donovan is also the past president of Catholic Theological Society of America. He was a student of Fr. Karl Rahner, S.J. at the University of Muenster and has written extensively about him, including an introductory volume, A World of Grace. He is a frequent contributor of articles on art criticism to America, Commonweal, The Washingtonian, the Los Angeles Times, and the National Catholic Reporter. In 2003 Fr. O'Donovan authored an article in America about the enamel art work of Egino Weinert.
Recently in collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Fr. O'Donovan presented a series of lectures at the New York Church of St Ignatius Loyola entitled "Finding God In All the Galleries." The series reflected on great art to learn how art and faith enlighten each other.
This event is co-sponsored by Creator Mundi and Regis University and in collaboration with the Foundation of Sacred Art.
Where: St. John Francis Regis Chapel, Regis University Lowell Campus (50th and Lowell) Denver.
Free and open to the public.
"Sacred art finds its subjects in the images of salvation history, beginning with creation and continuing all the way from the first day to the eighth day, the day of the resurrection." Pope Benedict XVI
