The Good Friday Cross depicts, abstractly, Jesus, the High Priest of Hebrews 2:14-18 and 4:14-16, as he utters “It is finished!”, bows his head, and dies (John 19:30). This impressive bronze abstract crucifix is a most fitting gift for a birthday, baptism, first communion, confirmation, wedding and especially for an ordination or ordination anniversary. This is indeed a gift of genuine heirloom quality that will be prominently hung or worn and handed down for generations to come!
A Solid Bronze Abstract Crucifix
Measuring 6.8 inches high and 4 inches wide, the Good Friday Cross hangs easily on the wall in study, home, or office. This solid bronze abstract crucifix was conceived, forged, and hand-finished in a bronze foundry in Germany. The Good Friday Cross is a most meaningful gift, especially for the priests and ministers in your community who strive to emulate Christ the High Priest in his empathy, fidelity and mercy!
A Crucified High Priest?
A “Crucified High Priest” seems to be an obviously unintelligible combination. The High Priest is supposed to offer sacrifices on behalf of the people, not BE the sacrifice! Yet, Jesus as the “High Priest” of Hebrews offered indeed to God the most fitting and acceptable of all sacrifices: himself. Christ the High Priest sacrifices himself on our behalf in his crucifixion and death on the cross. It the blood of his crucifixion which washes away all of our sins and irrevocably seals the New Covenant.
