Forgiveness from the Cross
Before he uttered his last words (Father, into your hands, I commit my Spirit) Jesus spoke two other sentences. Nailed to the cross, viciously humiliated and in terrible agony, Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. A little later, Jesus said to the repentant thief crucified with him, Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise. Forgiveness from the cross! If Jesus can forgive us from the cross, he will most certainly forgive us from his throne of glory in Heaven! Pope Francis is on to something in his homily on March 17, 2013, when he stresses God’s unrelenting determination to forgive us: The Lord never tires of forgiving us. Never! We, we are the ones who tire of asking for forgiveness!

I just got this today after 4weeks on special order. Fantastic work of art it says Piechard on the back. Dominick Piechard designed many of these French crosses. He was one of the best artisans of this type of art. This one is a master piece of his design. It was worth the wait.
