This statuette will make a most wonderful gift for a wedding, a wedding anniversary, an ordination, an ordination anniversary, a a profession of vows, a vow jubilee, and for that special little chapel which is so near and dear to your heart!
Vierge Reine – A Beautiful Labor of Love, Faith, and Hope
This statuette of the Vierge Reine stands 9.8 inches tall and is hand-carved from wood. A community of cloistered nuns design, carve, and hand-finish this statuette in the atelier of their monastery in France. Each sister prayerfully fulfills a designated task towards the completion of each statuette of the Vierge Reine. How, where, and by whom this statuette is carved shows that it is indeed ”culturally authentic” and a beautiful labor of love, faith and hope!
Mary – “Queen” of Heaven?
Catholics believe that Mary, after her death, was taken up (“assumed”) into Heaven. If Mary was indeed assumed into Heaven as the Virgin Mother of Jesus, the Mother of God, the Theotokos, she must surely hold a very high place in Heaven indeed as the Vierge Reine! Catholics began to address Mary, assumed into Heaven, as Mary, crowned “Queen of the Angels” and “Queen of Heaven.” Saint John Damascene sums this up well: When she became Mother of the Creator, she truly became Queen of every creature.
