The Last Supper Colored Plaque – A Lovely Labor of Love, Faith, and Hope

The Last Supper Colored measures 3.25 by 3.1 inches. Formed from a composite of highly polished dolomite stone and resin, this plaque has feel, heft, and gleam of a true family heirloom and a rare piece of carved ivory. Cloistered religious sisters create, form, and handcraft to perfection each and every plaque in the workshop of their monastery in France. Each sister is a true “contemplative in action” who prayerfully undertakes a specific task assigned to to her which is required for the completion of each and every piece. Where, by whom, and how the Last Supper Colored Plaque is fashioned is convincing proof that it is ”culturally authentic” and a lovely labor of love, faith and hope!

The Last Supper – Human History’s Most Fateful Meal

On the night before Jesus was crucified and killed, he celebrated with his disciples the Feast of Unleavened Bread – the Passover –  for one last time. The Last Supper Ivoirine Plaque depicts vividly the events of that last night : Jesus blessing the bread and cup, eleven of his disciples looking on with rapt attention, and the twelfth disciple, Judas Iscariot (in the bottom right corner of the plaque), turning away in rejection of Jesus. This is an evening filled with foreboding, drama, and tension indeed – the evening of the most fateful and significant dinner in human history.
