Product Description

Our Saint Agnes of Rome Plaque (c. 291-304), depicts the patron saint of chastity, young girls, engaged couples, rape victims, and virgins. Saint Agnes was only 12 or 13 year old when she was martyred because, according to legend, her many suitors – slighted by her unswerving devotion to religious purity and chastity – told the Roman authorities that she was a Christian. This solid bronze plaque is an excellent gift for confirmations, birthdays, first communions, the feast day of St. Agnes on January 21st, and will be a great stocking stuffer for Christmas.

A Bronze Wall Plaque in Three Sizes

Available in three sizes – Small (p68k – 2.25 x 1.9 inches), Medium (p128m – 4 x 3.25 inches), and Large (p7g – 7.6 x 6.3 inches) – this bronze wall plaque hangs easily on the wall at home or in the office. A master bronze-smith designed and cast this solid bronze plaque. This is a truly distinctive gift for that special ”Agnes” in your life!

Saint Agnes – Virgin-Martyr

This plaque depicts St. Agnes as the Virgin-Martyr. Because of the similarity of her name Agnes (derived from the feminine Greek adjective hagnē – ἁγνή meaning “chaste, pure, sacred”) to agnus (Latin for “lamb”), the lamb has been her symbol since the sixth century. The “Lamb of God” is depicted on this plaque in the top left corner. Agnes is depicted in this plaque holding the palm branch – the symbol of her martyrdom – with the city of Rome in the background. This is a most fitting gift for the feast day of St. Agnes (January 21), as well as for a birthday, first communion, or confirmation.
