The Crucifix of Choice for Pope Saint John Paul II
The Papal Crucifix is immediately recognizable to any Catholic as the crucifix used by many of the most recent popes: Saint Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis. It has typically rested atop the pastoral staff used by the Popes and was designed by Lello Scorzelli . Commissioned by Pope Paul VI, it was first used at the closing of the Second Vatican Council on December 8, 1965. The Creator Mundi Papal Crucifix is a replica of this crucifix, and it is available in different sizes to fit your needs. It is made of solid bronze in Europe, using old-world techniques. The level of craftsmanship shown in this crucifix ensures that it will become a treasured heirloom in your family, to be passed down through the generations.
The small and medium sizes are ideal for home wall crosses: both add a beautiful air of reverence and tradition to your home or classroom. The large size can also be used at home, but is additionally suited for chapel or liturgical use. The Scorzelli crucifix was the model for the crucifix on the rosaries Pope Benedict XVI gave to his guests.
