Fashioned with faith by cloistered sisters in their monastery in Europe, this contemplative Virgin Mary statuette is one of 18 pieces in a truly lovely nativity set (crèche). This Virgin Mary, along with the Infant Jesus and Saint Joseph (see below), are the first three pieces to acquire. After acquiring these three pieces, you can then begin the process of making your Grande Crèche complete, year after year. Eventually your Grande Crèche will be complete and you can then display it in its entirety during the Christmas season in your home, office, workplace, or church!

The Virgin Mary measures 10.6 inches high and, along with the other 17 pieces of the Grande Crèche (color), is fashioned from a mixture of dolomite stone and resin and then finished by hand in the monastic workshop. While in prayer, each sister undertakes a specific task to further along the completion of each and every piece. The Grande Crèche (color) is, then, eminently “culturally authentic” and a genuine labor of love, faith, and hope!
