Saint Cecilia – Patron Saint of Music
According to the Acts of Cecilia: “While the profane music of her wedding resounded, Cecilia was singing in her heart a hymn of love for Jesus, her true spouse.” For this reason, Saint Cecilia became the patron saint of music, singers, musicians, and composers. This plaque depicts St. Cecilia holding a musical instrument. On the left side of the plaque are depicted the sword used for to kill her and a palm branch, a symbol of her martyrdom.
