The Alpha and the Omega
The eternal Logos, the Word of God – present with God the Father before creation (John 1:1-13)—is the Alpha (A). Jesus Christ, the Logos, the Crucified and Risen Messiah, is the fulfillment of creation at the end of time as the Omega (Ω). Jesus Christ then is indeed the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:12-14,16): “Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. . . .
