Measuring 6.7 inches long, the Fleur-de-Lis Wall Cross has an eyelet at the top to ensure easy hanging on a wall in home, study, or office. This wall cross was conceived, cast, and realized in an artisanal workshop in France. This is an elegant gift for that special someone in your life!
The Fleur-de-Lis, Symbol of the Holy Trinity and Mary
Until about 1300, the fleur-de-Lis was originally depicted with Jesus, but later more and more with Mary, the “lily among thorns” of Song of Songs 2:2. Since the lily was seen as a symbol of purity and chastity, the fleur-de-lis was increasingly depicted as an attribute of the Virgin Mary in iconography. The three petals of the fleur-de-lis symbolize the three Persons of the Holy Trinity. The band which binds the three petals together is a symbol of Mary, since the Trinity is not understandable without Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity.
