This is our exquisite Saint Martha and Mary with Jesus Plaque. Saint Martha is both the “woman of faith” and “distracted cook.” As the older sister of Mary (not Jesus’ mother), Martha witnessed the resuscitation from the dead of her older brother Lazarus. This bronze plaque is an excellent gift for a birthday, confirmation, or St. Martha’s feast day on July 29th.
A Bronze Wall Plaque in Three Sizes
Available in three sizes – small (p165k – 2.4 x 2 inches), medium (p54m – 4 x 3.25 inches) or large (p218g – 7.9 x 6.3 inches) – this plaque will hang with easy anywhere in your home or at your office. This solid bronze plaque was conceived and forged by a German bronzesmith of world renown. This is an especially fitting gift for that very special “Martha” in your life!
Saint Martha – Woman of Faith and Distracted Cook
When Martha complained about her sister Mary not helping out in the kitchen, Jesus challenged Martha to be more like Mary and “choose what is better” – in other words, to attend to what is truly essential in life (Luke 10:38-42). (Lucky for Jesus that Martha did not make him prepare his own meal that evening!) But Martha was also the one who professed her faith that Jesus was the Anointed of God, the Messiah, the Christ (John 11:17-27). Martha is just like us: an ordinary person caught up with the busyness of life who is called to faith in Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life.
