Lignum Crucis – The Wood of the Cross
The Lignum Crucis Bracelet is named for the wood-like appearance of its ceramic cross. Wood was used to construct the ark of Noah which saved the human race from the cataclysmic Flood (Genesis 6-8). Wood was burned to make pleasing to God the sacrifices offered by the Jewish people until the destruction of the Temple (made also of wood) in 70 a.d. The wood of the cross is our ark of salvation. The wood of the cross carries up the ultimate sacrifice to God, God’s own Son. The wood of the cross is the new Temple containing that most Holy of Holies, Jesus the Christ.
