The Virgin Mary is 10.6 inches high and, along with the other seventeen pieces of the Grande Crèche (white), is made from a mixture of dolomite stone and resin which is then finished by hand in the monastery’s workshop. While in prayer, each sister performs a specific assigned task to help complete each and every piece.
