Our Saint Christopher plaque is a great Christian gift, especially for travelers. St. Christopher is venerated as a martyr killed by the Roman Emperor Decius (or Dacian) in the mid or late 3rd century. Saint Christopher is the original “Christ-Bearer” and the patron saint of wayfarers, travelers, transportation workers, motorists and drivers. This plaque will make a wonderful gift for a birthday, first communion, confirmation, and the feast day of St. Christopher on July 25th.
A Solid Bronze Plaque
Measuring 5.1 inches high and 4.75 inches wide, this solid bronze plaque will hang on any wall in the office or at home. This plaque was designed and created in Germany by a master bronzesmith and makes an excellent gift for that special Christopher or Chris in your life!
St. Christopher (Greek: Χριστόφορος, Christóforos, literally, “Christ-bearer”) is depicted on this plaque holding his staff while fording a river with the Christ Child on his shoulder. The Christ Child is carrying a ball—the “weight of the world.” (“You had on your shoulders not only the whole world but Him who made it. I am Christ your king, whom you are serving by this work.”) Although little is actually known about him, Saint Christopher is widely popular. In England, there are more wall paintings of St. Christopher than of any other saint, except for the Virgin Mary.
