Our At the Foot of the Cross wall crucifix is a unique and moving depiction of Jesus on the cross with his mother, Mary, beneath. At 3.5 inches high and 2.7 inches wide, this solid bronze crucifix is designed to hang on the wall in a small nook or niche. Newly initiated RCIA candidates may be welcomed with this simple but profound crucifix.
Cling to Jesus
The need to touch the Crucified One—the need to cling to Jesus—is irresistible, no less now than on that day two millenia ago. This solid bronze crucifix, from the hands of a master artist in Germany, invites us to do just that: cling to Jesus.
The INRI at the top of this cross stands for the Latin words “Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum” (Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews). The INRI stands in as an abbreviation for the inscription in Aramaic, Greek, and Latin which was nailed to the top of Jesus’ cross by order of Pontius Pilate (John 19:19-20).
