The Infant Jesus of the Nativity Creche d’Autun Series is indeed the absolute center of the mystery of the Nativity – the “reason for the season.” This piece – conceived and fashioned with faith in a Western European monastery by religious sisters – is part of an exquisite 11-piece nativity scene (crèche). The Infant Jesus, along with St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph will make a great start to the crèche which you are keeping for your own family or giving to a loved one or family or church as a Christmas gift. The Infant Jesus (with manger) is 2.8 inches long. This and the other 10 pieces are fashioned from dolomite stone and hand-finished by monastic sisters in a monastery workshop in Western Europe. Each sister of the monastic community is assigned a specific task which she completes in prayer as her contribution to the completion of each crèche piece. Every and every piece of the crèche is indeed a labor of love, faith, and hope!
