This Saint Joseph statue is part of the Dolomite Nativity series, a French nativity set. It is a gift of the earth, born of local dolomite stone. It is hand-crafted in a monastery, where each sister takes the statue into her individual hermitage to perform one of the creative tasks necessary to bring about this beautiful work of art. This piece is suffused with the profound spirituality of the many sisters who delicately wrought it by hand. During this work each sister is asked to accompany and bless each piece with contemplative prayer. This figure is about 4 inches in height.
