All the pieces of this crèche (nativity set) are made of local dolomite stone, harvested from the earth, and handcrafted by sisters of a monastic community in Europe. Each sister, in her own hermitage, dedicates herself to accomplishing one task towards completion of each nativity piece. Each sister accompanies and blesses each piece with her contemplative prayer.
