Product Description
Chi-Rho Cross of Love is a shorthand abbreviation for the title “Christ” since Chi (Χ) and Rho (P) are the first two letters of “Christ” in Greek (ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ – Christos). “The Anointed one” is Christ in Greek and “Messiah” (משיח) in Hebrew. This lovely cross with green, blue and red enamel inlay will be the perfect gift for life’s special occasions: birthday, baptism, first communion, confirmation, wedding or wedding anniversary, graduation, ordination or ordination anniversary, and housewarming. The Name of Christ Jesus – the Name of God
In the Bible, names possess power. A vital connection exists between the name and the one named. A name expresses the very nature of the person. This is nowhere more the case than in regards to God’s name. The tetragrammaton (יהוה – YHWH – Yahweh) – the name of God in Hebrew – is too sacred to ever be uttered aloud. Rather, the title My Lord (Adonai ) is substituted to speak of or to pray to God (go to History/Story tab). The name of Jesus and his title as the Messiah (Christ), on the other hand, are now exalted and proclaimed:
Although he was in the form of God and equal with God, he did not take advantage of this equality. Instead, he emptied himself by taking on the form of a servant, by becoming like other humans, by having a human appearance. He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, death on a cross. This is why God has given him an exceptional honor – the name honored above all other names – so that at the name of Jesus everyone in heaven, on earth, and in the world below will kneel and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
– Philippians 2:6-11
