The Crucifix of Choice for Saint Pope John Paul II
The Papal Crucifix is immediately recognizable to any Catholic as the crucifix used by many of the most recent popes: Saint Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis. It has typically rested atop the pastoral staff used by the Popes. Commissioned by Pope Paul VI and designed by Lello Scorzelli, the papal crucifix was first used at the closing of the Second Vatican Council on December 8, 1965. The Standing Papal Crucifix is a close replica of this crucifix, and is available in different sizes to fit your needs. It is made of solid bronze in Europe, using old-world techniques. The level of craftsmanship shown in this crucifix ensures that it will become a treasured heirloom in your family, to be passed down through the generations.
The small and medium sizes of the hanging crucifix are ideal for home wall crosses: both add a beautiful air of reverence and tradition to your home or classroom. The large size can also be used at home, but is additionally suited for chapel or liturgical use. Outstanding Crucifix for a Church or a domestic Church. This is the JP2 Papal Crucifix. I remember how he embraced it as he used it in prayer at so many of his gatherings among the faithful. This is a large standing crucifix and clearly a finely made work of art!
