The Wood of the Cross
The “Wood of the Cross Crucifix is named so because of the rough, wood-like texture of the bronze cross. Wood was the construction material for the ark of Noah which saved the human race in the cataclysmic Flood (Genesis 6-8). Wood was burned so that sacrifices pleasing to God could be offered throughout the history of the Jewish people until the destruction of the Temple (also made of wood) in 70 a.d. The wooden cross is our ark to which we cling. The wood of the cross bears the sacrificial offering of God’s own Son. The wood of the cross is the Temple containing the Holy of Holies, Jesus the Christ. Behold the wood of the cross, on which is hung our salvation!

Very reverential Holy standard Crucifix for any purpose for the home or church. I have been hooked on this line of French Crucifixes.
